Introducing this weeks Artist of the Week - Gabrielle Aplin
Today marks the Australian release date of 20 year old Gabrielle Aplin’s debut album, ‘English Rain.’ Beginning her musical career at 14 when Gabrielle wrote her first song, ‘Home,’ she has independently sold more than 60,000 copies of her three EP’s, set up her own record label and supported Ed Sheeran on his Australian tour. Now tell me that isn’t an impressive achievement for a 20 year old? Unsurprisingly it wasn’t long before Gabrielle was snapped up by major record label Parlophone.
‘English Rain’ features singles ‘Panic Cord’ and ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me.’ Her songs have been described by English newspaper The Guardian as..
“Pretty pastel melodies and lyrics that will ping their way into the hearts of 14 year-olds.”

Taylor Swift’s stadium tour kicks off on Dec 4th at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, and rounds up in Melbourne on Dec 14th, with dates in between in Perth and Brisbane.
Guy Sebastian is heading to the US with his Australian Number 1 in the hope to gain the same results over there. SO what’s next….a collaboration between Sebastian and Taylor Swift perhaps?
OLLY MURS has released the video for his new single ‘Dear Darlin,’ which is taken from his latest album ‘Right Place Right Time.’ Following previous hits of the album ‘Troublemaker’ and ‘Army of Two,’ the single showcases Olly’s softer side. The lyrics take us through a break-up, making the song super emotional. The video suits the song perfectly, but Olly seems unsure about his jewellery choice!

OMG!!!! Lawson have released details of their new single ‘Brokenhearted’ which should be in our hands on July 7th! The track features the one and only B.o.B and here’s what Andy had to say about that…”It was a dream to get B.o.B on the track. The whole band are huge fans of his. He really took the song to the next level and we had a great time shooting the video with him.”

Miley Cyrus believes she was haunted by ghosts during a London visit
When Miley isn’t looking stunning on the cover of Elle Magazine, supposedly she is experiencing some paranormal activity! She recounted some creepy experiences she had when she stayed in an apartment, which was converted from an old bakery, in London recently.
Miley rented a flat in London during her European tour to use as her home while she was staying in the country, but it all didn’t stay as cool as Miley was hoping - she believed that her bachelorette pad was haunted. Yep, we’re not renting any London bakeries-come-apartments anytime soon.
She explained in an interview, “One night my little sister – it sounds crazy to tell you – but she was standing in the shower and all of a sudden I hear her scream. I run in there and the water had somehow flipped to hot but it was still… It wasn’t like the water had just changed, the knob had turned but she hadn’t turned it and it was burning her. She was really red.” (it could have been the fact that the water was still heating up in the pipes and eventually got really hot?.. Surely there’s a better explanation than a ghost.
Cyrus continued, “I thought I had seen a little boy sitting on the sink watching me take a shower so I felt really freaked out. I was sitting there the next night and maybe I’m crazy, but I could have sworn I could see this little boy sitting there on the sink, kicking his feet.” Ok…. maybe the hot shower thing may have been something ghostly… because not only did Miley have a ghostly encounter, but so did her mum, aunty and her fiance Liam Hemsworth!
After Miley and her family all had their ghostly encounters, they decided to have a look into the history of the building - so maybe they could get some answers or some background info on what had happened there - you know how all the old buildings in London have been newly renovated-have been old scary buildings in the past that have been standing for hundreds of years? So - they looked into it and this is what they found out - As Miley explained
“We found out that this guy and his son – this guy who owned the bakery, it was one of these where the dad owns it and the dad owns it – and there was this older man that owned it and his son lived with him there, and I guess the wife died or something, she had gotten sick. So it was just the son and the dad that lived there in the bakery, and then the dad died and the son took over the bakery, and I thought I was seeing the son. I’m not even kidding.”
After hearing about the deaths in the building, Miley and her family decided to uproot and move o the Soho Hotel in London instead - and we DON’T blame them, hands up who doesn’t want scary baker’s son ghosts watching them shower.
Ed Sheeran thinks the new One Direction album is ‘Almost Finished’
Ok, so we all now know that our favourite ginger Ed is friends with our favourite overnight pop sensations One Direction - so who else better to trust on info about their new album?
According to Ed Sheeran, One Direction’s new album is finished! Which is great news for us - but also sad news for us, Ed didn’t have any time to contribute to it this time - What with touring the world, joining Taylor Swift on her tour, recording demos for his own album… yeah, i guess we can see how he didn’t have enough time.
“I haven’t done any songs on this one,” he said in an interview with MTV “I’ve actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my own album.” - well, this is ok with us! new Ed music is better than Ed contributed 1D music.
“I was approached, and it wasn’t so much a ‘No,’ it was just a ‘I want to write tunes for myself at the moment.’” he said “Once my album’s done, then we’ll see, But their album is already finished.”
Yay! new Ed!.. and New 1D. What more could you want?…. i guess some Ed featuring 1D.. or 1D featuring Ed?… maybe….perhaps
